Who We Are

JobPath USA (“Your Roadmap to Work in America”) is an informational guidance portal about employment in the United States. The site is operated by EJDM (“we”, “our”, “us”), which is the data controller responsible for any personal information collected through this website. If you have questions about how we handle your data, contact EJDM through our Contact page.

Information We Collect

We keep data collection to a minimum. Here is what we gather and how it reaches us:

Information you give us directly

  • Contact form data: when you write to us, we receive your name, your email address, and the message you send. We use this only to read and respond to your inquiry.
  • Newsletter signup: if you subscribe to our updates, we collect your email address so we can send you the newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.

Information collected automatically

  • Technical data: when you visit the site, our servers log standard information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, and the pages you visited. This helps us keep the site secure and running smoothly.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: we use cookies to operate the site and, where enabled, to understand how visitors use it. Our Cookie Policy explains this in detail.

We do not ask for sensitive personal data (such as social security numbers, immigration documents, or health information), and you should never send it to us through the contact form or newsletter.

How We Use Your Information

  • To respond to messages you send through the contact form.
  • To send the newsletter you signed up for.
  • To maintain the security and performance of the website.
  • To understand, in aggregate, which guides readers find useful so we can improve our content.
  • To comply with legal obligations where applicable.

We do not use your personal information for automated decision-making or profiling.

Legal Bases (GDPR and UK GDPR)

For visitors from the European Union or the United Kingdom, we process personal data only where we have a lawful basis under the GDPR:

  • Consent: when you subscribe to the newsletter or tick a consent box, we process your data on the basis of your consent. You may withdraw it at any time, for example by unsubscribing.
  • Legitimate interest: for operating the site securely and responding to inquiries you send us, we rely on our legitimate interest in running this portal. We weigh this interest against your rights, and we collect only what is necessary.
  • Legal obligation: where a law requires us to keep or disclose certain records, we do so.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. We share limited data only with the service providers that keep this site running:

  • Hosting provider: the company that hosts this website necessarily processes traffic and server logs.
  • Email delivery service: the service we use to send newsletter emails processes subscriber addresses.

These processors handle your data only on our instructions and under contractual protections. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or security of EJDM, our readers, or the public.

How Long We Keep Your Data

  • Contact messages: kept for up to 24 months so we can follow up on the thread, then deleted.
  • Newsletter subscribers: kept for as long as you remain subscribed; once you unsubscribe, your address is removed from the active list promptly.
  • Server logs: retained for up to 12 months for security purposes, then deleted or anonymized.

Your Rights

Under the GDPR / UK GDPR

If you are in the EU or UK, you have the right to request access to your personal data, correction of inaccurate data, deletion (“right to be forgotten”), restriction of processing, data portability, and to object to processing based on legitimate interest. You also have the right to withdraw consent at any time. You may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority if you believe we have mishandled your data.

Under US state privacy laws (including the California CCPA/CPRA)

Residents of California and other US states with privacy laws have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request access or deletion, to correct inaccurate information, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. Because we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, there is no opt-out toggle to flip — there is simply nothing to opt out of. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

To exercise any right described here, contact EJDM through our Contact page. We will verify your identity and respond within the timeframes the applicable law requires.

Children’s Privacy

JobPath USA is intended for adults and older teens seeking career information. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us.

International Transfers

This site is hosted and operated in a way that may involve processing data outside your country of residence, including in the United States. Where data is transferred internationally, we apply appropriate safeguards as required by applicable law.

Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access controls. No system is perfectly secure, but we take the responsibility seriously.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the site evolves or as laws change. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page, and where changes are material we will highlight them on the site. Continued use of JobPath USA after an update means you accept the revised policy.
